CFA: Fulbright Scholar Program: Opportunities to Teach and Research in Russia

Deadline: August 1, 2018

The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program is accepting applications for the 2019-20 academic year. Opportunities are available for artists, college and university faculty, professionals, and independent scholars to teach and conduct research at educational institutions and research institutions in Russia. Fulbright Scholars represent the diversity of the United States and build lasting relationships with students, collaborators, the wider research community, and/or institutions abroad that serve as the foundation for future collaborations. There are seven opportunities available in Russia, including the following highlights:

All Disciplines Award

There are to six grants available to conduct teaching or research in any discipline at any appropriate institution outside Moscow and St. Petersburg for teaching applications. Proposals for research outside Moscow and St. Petersburg will be given preference. Applicants should expect to remain primarily in a single host city/institution, and they should not expect split affiliations or significant travel to secondary cities for research or lecturing purposes. They welcome early career applicants.


Distinguished Chair in Agricultural Technology and Education

Four to nine months opportunity in the category of Distinguished Chair to teach in these preferred disciplines: Agriculture, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Economics, Education, Engineering, Environmental Sciences at the Russian State Agrarian University - Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy. In addition to the award and stipend, Russian State Agrarian University will provide university housing for the scholar and his/her family, an office and an assistant/interpreter. The host institution will also organize a cultural program for the Fulbright scholar and his/her family in Moscow and the Moscow region.


Science and Innovation Award

An opportunity to do research or teaching undergraduate and graduate courses at any appropriate institution in Russia for senior scholars in these preferred disciplines: Agriculture, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer, Science, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Geography, Geology, Information Sciences, Mathematics, Medical Sciences, Physics and Astronomy, and Public/Global Health.
