CFP: Digital Icons Issue 20

Studies in Russian, Eurasian and Central European New Media (www.digitalicons.org) invites scholars, artists and other interested parties working on the study of digital media to submit contributions toward our next open issue, scheduled for publication in June 2019. Past issues and articles have considered topics such as digital media and trauma, digital creativity in protest movements and technological influences such as the use of digital drone photography and dash-cam footage. Deadline for submissions for issue 20 is December 1, 2018.

Celebrating our 20th issue, this issue will also feature a cluster of submissions, which will evaluate the evolution of digital media in Russia, Eurasia, and Central Europe since the journal’s creation ten years ago. Besides technological, social and artistic developments, we are also interested how academic research reacts to these changes by means of methodological, organizational or didactical innovations.

Authors can submit original research in the form:

1) articles

2) essays

3) visual essays

4) interviews

5) news items

6) book reviews

7) digital memoirs

Studies in Russian, Eurasian and Central European New Media is an open access multi-media platform that explores new media as a variety of information flows, varied communication systems and networked communities.
