The Jewish Studies Program in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow faculty position for Academic Year 2020-2021 and is pending funding. This fellowship is offered in conjunction with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies. The appointment is a 12-month term position and will commence on August 1, 2020.
Applicants should hold a PhD or other terminal degree by August 1st, 2020. The position will require the incumbent to teach one course during the Fall 2020 semester and one course in the Spring 2021 semester at American University, in any area of Holocaust Studies. Course assignments will be made in consultation with the Director of the Jewish Studies Program. In addition, the fellow will have opportunities to conduct research and participate in the community of fellows at the Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies. All faculty are expected to hold office hours and participate in School and University activities and service.
