CFP: Balkan Studies

Balkan Studies (BS) is an open access international journal published by the Institute for Balkan Studies in Thessaloniki, Greece. The journal publishes research papers in the fields of History, Social Studies, Folklore, Economy, Religion,  etc. from Antiquity to Modern times and focuses particularly on the geographic area of Eastern Mediterranean: Balkans/SE Europe, Black Sea, Middle East, North Africa.

Since 2012, Balkan Studies is published in electronic version on the official website of the Institute for Balkan Studies: www.imxa.gr.

Prospective authors are invited to submit original papers for Vol. 54 which is scheduled to be published by the end of 2021.

Papers and abstracts can be sent to Eleftheria Manta at elefmant@hist.auth.gr or elemanta@yahoo.gr.

  • All papers (with a 200 words abstract and a short CV): until May 31st, 2021 
  • Original papers: 7-10.000 words (footnotes included)
  • Book reviews: 1.500 words
  • All submissions are subjected to double-blind peer review.
  • For footnotes and other references, prospective authors are asked to follow the Chicago Manual of Style.
