Beginner's Ukrainian Online in Fall 2025 at the University of Kansas

The University of Kansas is still accepting applications from students who would like to take Beginner's Ukrainian online in Fall 2025. The course is open to any learner in the United States for college credit. UKRA 104: Elementary Ukrainian I (5 credits) is mostly asynchronous: students complete learning tasks through the Canvas course management system Monday through Thursday at their own pace and meet once a week as a class for a one-hour session via Zoom. In addition to numerous authentic materials, UKRA 104 uses the open-education web-based resource for learning basic Ukrainian grammar, Dobra Forma (https://opentext.ku.edu/dobraforma/), developed by the course designer, Dr. Oleksandra Wallo. By the end of the first semester, learners can expect to reach at least the ACTFL Novice Mid level of proficiency in the oral expression, listening comprehension, reading, and writing of Ukrainian.

While classes officially began yesterday, it is not too late to join! Please let anyone who might be interested in taking Beginner's Ukrainian know about this opportunity. They can email Dr. Wallo (owallo@ku.edu) with questions on how to enroll, the cost, or the course itself.
