Job: W21 paid student opportunities with the UM Global Health Design Initiative

The University of Michigan Global Health Design Initiative is seeking part-time student temps to remotely support translational research and program development activities. Students will perform project-related work virtually. Project topics include:
  • Global Health Technology Implementation: Students will explore pathways for implementing global health technologies that were developed by student teams at the University of Michigan.
  • Clinical Trial Preparation: Students will work with clinicians and research staff to plan a small-scale clinical study to evaluate an assistive device for removing subdermal contraceptive implants.
  • Design Thinking Curriculum Development: Students will develop a sustainable and scalable model for delivering design thinking curriculum to non-engineers at a partnering institution in Ghana.
  • Postdoctoral Training Program Development: Students will support the design of a new postdoctoral training program to build local research capacity in order to accelerate the development, implementation, and scaling of global emergency medicine and maternal health technologies.
The positions are open to undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines, with hourly wage rate dependent on experience.
