Job: Adjunct Instructor in Russian, Saint Louis University

Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to undergraduate and graduate education, research, health care, and service seeks an adjunct instructor in Russian (Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures) for the Fall 2019 semester.  The desired qualifications for a successful candidate include an ABD or PhD in Russian or Slavic Languages (with a focus on Russian), an ability to teach Russian at the beginning and intermediate levels, and an ability to teach a scheduled course on Russian literature of the twentieth-century (in English) with a focus on women's and gender studies.  The position includes classroom instruction (including syllabus design to meet the program's learning outcomes), timely evaluation of students, and working together with the Russian coordinator and full-time faculty as part of the Russian Studies program.  Experience teaching Russian language at a North American university is preferred.  Interested candidates should submit a c.v., cover letter, course syllabus for the gender and literature course, evidence of teaching excellence in the Russian language, and three reference letters to Dr. Elizabeth Blake at eblake2@slu.edu as soon as possible.
