Final Call - Russian Language Summer School 2026, Yerevan (ASPIRANTUM)

ASPIRANTUM’s 2026 Russian Language Summer School in Yerevan

The program offers 6–10 weeks (120–200 hours) of intensive Russian. Instruction is available at upper elementary and intermediate levels, focusing strongly on all core language skills in small groups.

We are offering summer online synchronous courses at Stony Brook (all courses are 6 weeks May 26 - July 3):

Intensive Elementary Russian (RUS 101) - covers 2 semesters of Beginner Russian

Intensive Elementary Ukrainian (UKR 101) - covers 2 semesters of Beginner Ukrainian, can accommodate heritage speakers. MoTuWeTh 10:30AM - 12:45PM

Intensive Summer Polish now tuition free

Thanks to generous support from the Kosciuszko Foundation, intensive online summer 2026 Polish courses at the Indiana University Language Workshop are now tuition free for all participants. (There are still fees, however.) 
  • Format: Synchronous online classes plus independent homework
  • Dates: 2026 May 18 - July 10
  • Times: Weekdays, 11:00 am - 2:30 pm EDT
  • Eligibility: Any applicant over 16 years of age by May 18

Princeton University - Tallinn Russian summer language study abroad - space for additional participant(s)

Princeton University partners with Tallinn University for a summer Russian language study-abroad program. We’ve had a cancellation in the Intermediate Russian course and can accommodate one or two additional participants in this group.

 

The program will run from June 8 to July 31, 2026.

 

The program fee is approximately $5,000, and it covers tuition, a home stay with half-board (lunch and supper), or hostel. Students are expected to cover meals (lunches), personal expenses, and airfare (approx. $1,500). Estimated personal expenses will depend on where participants will stay.

 

Students from other universities must apply for support with their home institutions.

If you know of a student who might be interested in joining the Princeton group and is at an appropriate level, we would be very happy to welcome them.

Deadline April 1: Russian in Central Asia Summer Program & Fall 2026 Semester in Bishkek

If you have not yet finalized your summer plans, you may wish to consider applying to the Russian in Central Asia Summer Program. As in previous years, we are extending the application deadline to April 1 to allow additional time for students to complete their applications.

The program is hosted by Bard’s partner institution, the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and offers an excellent opportunity for students to study Russian while engaging with the diverse cultural and linguistic environment of Central Asia.

We are also continuing to accept applications for the Fall 2026 Study Abroad semester program in Bishkek, with the same April 1 deadline.

Summer intensive Beginning Russian online through Harvard University

Take beginning Russian online this summer through Harvard University. They are currently accepting students and registration is open (now through June 15, 2026, but it is recommended to register immediately in order to secure a spot in the course):



Taught by Harvard Slavic faculty (Dr. Steven Clancy), this Zoom-based course is open to students from all over the world and does not require the additional expenses of relocation or room and board for the duration of the seven-week program.

Classes begin Monday, June 22 and run through Friday, August 7, 2026 (7-weeks).

The main course meets daily, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-12:00pm eastern daylight time. The conversation and practice section meets Monday-Thursday (Fridays off) 1:00-2:45pm eastern daylight time.

The course regularly draws students from a wide variety of backgrounds (high school, undergraduates, graduate students, professionals, and retirees). Students have joined us from the US, Europe, and Asia and take the course to satisfy academic, personal, and professional goals.

We’ve heard recently from several participants in this program in the past few years. This summer course enabled several of them to pursue graduate studies in Russian-related fields. High school students have gotten a start in Russian before continuing in university programs. Adults have been able to pursue lifelong goals of Russian language studies that have enriched their personal lives, work experience, and retirement.

RUSS S-Aab Intensive Elementary Russian
This intensive course provides a comprehensive introduction to modern Russian
language and culture for those who would like to speak Russian or use the
language for reading and research. Designed for students without any previous
knowledge of Russian, the course stresses all four major communicative skills
(speaking, listening comprehension, reading, and writing). Students are
introduced to Russian culture through readings, screenings, and class
discussions. This course prepares students to continue in Russian at the
intermediate level or for study or travel abroad in Russian-speaking
countries. Course covers both volumes of Live from Russia. Taught by Dr.
Steven Clancy.

$7960 tuition for 8 credits (a full academic year of Russian equivalent to two
semesters of study, over 150 contact hours).

ADVANCE RUSSIAN ONLINE COURSES, SUMMER 2026

The Indiana University Language Workshop is accepting applications for its Advanced Online Russian courses in summer 2026.
Two levels of instruction are available in an intensive, online, evening format for advanced speakers wishing to solidify their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills; to improve their command of tone and register; and to expand the range of contexts in which they are comfortable communicating in Russian.
  • Format: Synchronous online evening classes

Applications are now open for the 2026 Russian Language Summer School in Yerevan, Armenia.

The program offers 6–10 weeks (120–200 hours) of intensive Russian language instruction starting on June 21, June 28, or July 5, 2026. Courses are available primarily at upper-elementary and intermediate levels, with other levels possible upon request. Instruction focuses on all core skills—reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, and vocabulary—within small groups that allow for close interaction and rapid progress.

Second Language Learners and Heritage Speakers Needed: Online Russian Language Study

Reid Vancelette, a doctoral candidate in Linguistics at the Graduate Center, CUNY, is recruiting participants for an online research study on Russian sentence comprehension.


Who I’m looking for

Native English speakers learning Russian as a second language (intermediate to advanced; no beginners)

Heritage speakers of Russian (born in the U.S. or moved to the U.S. before age 7, with Russian as the home language)


Participants do not need to be currently enrolled in Russian courses.


Study details

Two online tasks completed on a computer (no phones or tablets)

Approximately 45–60 minutes in total

$30 compensation

This study is fully online and open to participants regardless of location


Optional: Participants who live in the NYC area may also be invited to a separate, in-person session for additional compensation.
