CFP: Symposium on Disinformation Studies (SDS)

Deadline: December 20, 2021

Amid eroded and polarized trust in the media, heightened scrutiny of counter-disinformation policies, degeneration of language and common meaning, pervasive media illiteracy, and the emboldened stirring of left- and right-wing autocratic elements worldwide, there is an urgent need for a thorough investigation of all aspects of disinformation, its causes and effects, its probable evolution, and potential counter-measures and solutions.

The Symposium will be held on the scenic campus of Swarthmore College—located just outside Philadelphia and its numerous world-class museums, restaurants, and historic spots—over two days (April 1-2, 2022). While it will be in-person, registered participants will be able to access the events virtually. Though we encourage in-person participation by speakers, those who are unable to attend physically may still present virtually. Kindly send all presentation proposals (including presentation title, abstract of maximum 350 words, short bio) to swatdisinfostudies@gmail.com by December 20, 2021.
